The newest opportunity in Viet
Nam is from Hue Medical College and Pharmacy School. It has proposed a major
project for Vets With A Missions consideration. The $345,000 project is the
addition of an ER and ICU wing to its hospital. This would be in conjunction
with the first ER and ICU training program that would be offered by Hue
Medical College - the first ever in Viet Nam! Another non-governmental
organization, Good Samaritans http://gsmedicalministry.org/ has agreed to
train the physicians and other medical staff, and equip the new ER/ICU Wing
if VWAM can sponsor the construction phase. The Vietnamese have agreed to
give a naming opportunity to Vets With A Mission for funding this project.
There is also a unique situation in the development of this project, and for
further information, please contact Chuck Ward at vetswithamission@backroads.net or call 803-405-9926 for additional details.
VWAM is planning to build a private medical clinic in this central highlands city location in Dac Lac Province. It would focus on the health needs of poor ethnic minorities and poor Vietnamese (Kinh).
Projected cost of the Ban Me Thuot Medical Clinic is $33,000.
There is a rich and unique history concerning this proposed project dating back to 1968 and the Viet Nam War. For more information contact:

Dai Loc
In Que Son Valley in Quang Nam Province, not far from the Provincial capital of Tam Ky, is the place where VWAM would like to build a small medical clinic or rural health care station. This region was one of the more volatile war-torn areas near Danang. Many Marines and Soldiers fought in this hotly contested location.
Projected cost of the Dai Loc Medical Clinic is $27,600.
Danang
In the mid-nineties VWAM sponsored the construction and creation of the Health Information and Education Center (HIEC) in Danang for the Department of Health. The purpose of this office was, and has been, to promote public health awareness and implement preventive health measures. The program has out grown space available at the current facility and a renovated or new building is desperately needed to expand the program to accommodate additional medical and health personnel.
Cost of the H.I.E.C project is $74,750.
