I was with the 140 heavy equipment Company in 1967 - 1968 and I was there when the ammo Dump blew up and my brothers I thought that all hell had been turned loose. The green and gray tracers were flying everywhere and I can still see the mushroom cloud and still feel the super hot air all over my body and I just knew that I got sober fast and that was the last time I every got drunk in vietnam. A week later I was sent to what they called the 140 contact team and spent the rest of my tour with the 11 Cav out in the field as a wheel and track mech. Can any one remember the 140 contact team? We lived with the Cav and stayed in the field with them and our job was to change or repair engine and tramission where ever the damn thing broke down and at times that was one hard job and many times they broke down in a bad place. Now I am 64 years old and all of my kids are grown and I have grandkids and my only hope is that we with all of our pain and dieing is some how we left a better world for our kids and grandkids. And that in time others will learn from what we went throught and some how make life better for them in the future. Funney the way that time changes the way things are isn,t it. One proud vietnam Viet. Take care brothers and like we use to say in Vietnam, Don,t mean a nothing. Robert Wayne Naron

Have been trying to contact fellow members of the 556th milphap team stationed at Long Xuyen 5/66 to 5/67....its been 43 yrs.....very hard to believe....my memory is not as sharp as it used to be, but I remember a great group of young men assembled quickly down at Ft. Sam. for pre-Vietnam training.....Dr. Green, Dr. Macin, Lt. Risko , later Dr. Gore, Sgt. Hensley....and thats were my memory begins to fade....I can clearly see faces but no longer put names to them. Time is not my friend. I am proud of my service in Vietnam and can not begin to express my love for and gratitude for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice . God Bless.....

Bank Building - Cantoe-As I remember the bank building it had a river parallel to it? From the roof you could see up and down the Mekong Delta. At night you could watch the war go by with tracers moving up and down at Spooky and choppers. Was stationed with the USAF Surgical team who lived on the top floor, we had a dining room and living guarters, doctors, male nurse ane-gas passers and about 3 enlisted men, i was a OR tech. Was there 1967.. Met alot of good men we had a flag (unmentionable) in the dining room. I as stationed at CRB 12th Surgical Hospital in 66-67 and went to Canto for a month to help out the little team. That was many years ago, but still a lot of memories that stay with you.

Welcome home everyone....
