Just wanted to point out that the war wasn't just between America and North Vietnam. Once again the South Vietnamese have been all but neglected.

I really disagree with the fact that the info of the Vietnam War does not include the story of our Hmong people. Just because we didn't have our own country, that doesn't mean that the Vietnamese were the only one involved. We had a secret war going on even and it's still going on 'til this day! They were actually the ones who were killing the Hmong people as hostages. They shouldn't hold any fame towards honors at all. Study the Hmong background before you guys look high upon the Vietnamese. Thanks!

I was on the USS Clarion River LSMR-409 from 67 to 69. The Clarion had eight rocket launchers that could fire 5 inch rockets as fast as we could load them. We were used for support where ever we were needed which kept us busy almost every day. I would like to hear from anyone who ever served on a LSMR. larryblackman@yahoo.com

I was born during the Vietnam War. (1966) I think of those who fought, suffered and sacrificed on all sides each and every day of my life. It is after all... the least I can do. Learn and remember. Always remember...

My brother, Keith Wesley Allen, was shot in Binh Duong provence on Oct 13, 1967, suffering "a head wound of such severity as to cause concern." He had been in country for three months, serving less than 1 year of his two-year tour.

Keith died two days later. I was 16; my younger brother Rod was 14. Keith, just two months shy of his birth day, was 19.

My mom told us that his whole company was wiped out. I remember the Army's description that he was hit by sniper fire. My brother told me he was killed in the Tet offensive (wrong time of year).

I've looked at the Wall names and places of other youngsters who were killed the same day and in the same provence, but none match the names on the photo he sent home: Wiley, McCornish, & Shipp. If any of these guys are out there, I would greatly appreciate a correspondence. I want to know that you all are all right.
